Buying materials

The first thing you've gotta do is come up with a design, right? A murrsuit is a several-thousand-dollar bit of gear, so you don't want to half-ass it. Well, great news: Su Zig is an auradog, and there is no shortage of art of auradogs, or even fursuits of 'em. "It's gonna look like that, but with a sheath, nuts, and butthole" is a pretty good design. Everything else - fur, spikes, head blank - has to be selected with the bedroom in mind.

So let's start with the head blank. It's gonna be foam, 'cause a resin skull isn't going to feel good to facefuck. DVC has a good variety of foam blanks, and the closest to Su's is this one:

I'll have to cut the nose off, and the eyes are going to be a lot more realistic and less cartoony. Is that gonna look weird? Maybe! We'll have to see.

While I'm at DVC, may as well snag some eyes. I got some clear 3.8-cm resin eyes and I'll paint the back with red irises and white sclera. Hopefully that looks ok. And finally, why not get some rubber pawpads? I can make silicone pawpads myself, but silicone's not too resistant to abrasion. I'm going to get thick rubber to make them more durable. They're also HEAVY, like over two pounds per foot, which you might think is a bad thing. But hey, guess what? I've got lots of friends who are into that. They wanna get their faces smooshed by auradog pawbs. These things are 10" wide and 11" long, so... yeah! Might be a little unwieldy in various positions. We'll figure it out.

Total's $272, which should be the vast majority of what money we have to spend on the project.
